Author Guide

Thank you for your interest in submitting your research to the Lao Journal of Economics and Business Management (LJEBM) LJEBM is a prestigious quarterly publication dedicated to publishing high-quality, original research on economics, business, marketing, and finance. We aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice, fostering a collaborative research environment that contributes to the economic well-being of Laos and accross global.

These guidelines provide essential information for authors who wish to submit their manuscripts for consideration. Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting your work.

Submission Process

  • All submissions must be made electronically through the LJEBM online submission system (Submission).
  • The online system will guide you through the submission process, including uploading your manuscript and entering required information.
  • We recommend using a recent web browser for optimal functionality of the submission system.

Manuscript Preparation

  • Originality: Manuscripts submitted to LJEBM must be original work not published elsewhere or under consideration for publication by another journal.
  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English.
  • Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 8,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.
  • Formatting: Manuscripts should adhere to the following formatting guidelines:
    • Double-spaced throughout with 12-point Times New Roman font.
    • One-inch margins on all sides.
    • All pages should be numbered consecutively.
    • Use a consistent citation style (e.g., APA).
    • Include an abstract of no more than 250 words and a maximum of five keywords.
    • Tables and figures should be placed within the text or at the end of the manuscript, with clear titles and captions.
  • Manuscript Structure:

    Title: The title should be concise, descriptive, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. It should ideally be no longer than 20 words and should clearly convey the main focus of the study.

    Abstract: Provide a structured abstract of no more than 250 words, summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. The abstract should be written in a clear and concise manner, highlighting the key aspects of the research without excessive detail.

    Keywords: Include a list of 3-6 keywords below the abstract to facilitate indexing and searchability. Choose keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript and are commonly used in the field of economics and business management.

    Introduction: Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and hypotheses (if applicable) in the introduction section. Provide relevant background information to contextualize the study and explain its significance to the field.

    Literature Review: Present a comprehensive review of relevant literature, highlighting gaps, controversies, or inconsistencies in previous research. Synthesize existing knowledge to provide a foundation for the current study and demonstrate how it contributes to advancing understanding in the field.

    Methodology: Describe the research design, data collection methods, sampling techniques, and any statistical analyses employed in the study. Provide sufficient detail to allow readers to understand how the research was conducted and to assess the validity and reliability of the findings.

    Results: Report the findings of the study in a clear and concise manner, using tables, figures, or graphs where appropriate. Present the results objectively, without interpretation, and ensure that they are directly relevant to the research questions or hypotheses.

    Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of the research questions, compare them with previous literature, and discuss their implications for theory and practice. Explore possible explanations for the findings, consider alternative interpretations, and highlight any limitations of the study.

    Conclusion: Summarize the main findings of the study, discuss its limitations, and suggest avenues for future research. Conclude with a reflection on the overall significance of the research and its potential impact on the field of economics and business management.

  • Author Information:
    • Include the full name, affiliation, and email address of all authors on a separate cover page.
    • Indicate the corresponding author who will handle all communication regarding the manuscript.
    • Avoid including author information within the main manuscript to ensure blind review.

Review Process

  • All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process by experts in the relevant field.
  • Authors will be notified of the editorial decision (accept, revise, or reject) within approximately one months of submission.
  • Authors of manuscripts requiring revisions will be given an opportunity to address reviewer comments and resubmit their work.

Copyright

  • Upon acceptance for publication, authors will be required to transfer copyright of their manuscript to LJEBM.
